Work Less, Heal More: The Season of Energy Restoration 🌞

Summer is such a unique energy.
The sun is high, the lake is warm, and there’s this golden invitation to shift gears—from output to restoration.
But here’s the thing no one tells us:
Slowing down doesn’t mean you’re falling behind.
In fact, for many of us (especially those of us in healing professions), summer is when the real replenishment happens—if we allow it.
This summer, I’ve been practicing what I preach.
🌞 I’m not overscheduling myself.
🌞 I’ve said no to almost all travel. (which if you know me - is very unlike me!)
🌞 I’m not saying yes to dinners or events just to be polite.
🌞 And I’ve made peace with the idea that not everything needs to be “productive” to be worth doing.
Instead of filling my calendar, I’ve been filling up on nature.
Reading by the water. Making things with my hands. Tidying my closet. Cleaning up long-neglected to-dos that were energetically clogging up my brain.
I’m working with the season, not against it.
Here’s what I’ve learned:
When we stop trying to keep up with expectations that don’t serve us…
We unlock a whole new rhythm that actually heals.
So if you’re feeling tired, scattered, or behind, I want to lovingly suggest:
Maybe it’s not you.
Maybe it’s the pace you’re pushing.
Summer is not the time to force growth.
It’s the time to support the system that makes all growth possible:
👃🏻Your breath
🧠 Your nervous system
💓 Your energy body
So here’s your challenge for this week -if you choose to accept it ;)-
👉 Find one thing to take off your plate
👉 Create one pocket of white space in your week
👉 Give yourself one small pleasure that doesn’t have to be “earned”
We are in the season of abundance. Let it flow through you—not just through your bookings, but through your being.
With sunshine and strong boundaries,
Gen
P.S. What’s your favorite way to slow down in summer? I’d genuinely love to hear—it’s always inspiring to know how others are syncing with the season.
