Big Dreams. Firm Bedtime. š“

Hey there Healers,
This fall, Iām heading to Paris to speak at the Osteopathic International Alliance Conference 𤯠(um like WHAT?!). My talk is called The Augmented Practitioner, exploring how AI can help us expand what we do with our osteopathic knowledge.
And honestly? I'm kind of floored that this is actually happening.
Three years ago, I was at a workshop and we wrote out the one thing that I felt like I would DIE if I had to do it.
What was my Die ā ļø?
Standing in a room full of physicians and colleagues sharing my ideasāespecially about the connections between our bodies, emotions, and lived experience.
And there years later - here I am.... because I won't JUST be talking about AI. I'm going to be talking about how AI advanced my knowledge in Emotional Anatomy and how AI is used in my programs and clinic every day. That's the proof I'm bringing!
Clearly, if Iām going to stretch for my die zone, I appreciate access to excellent pastry. š„
But as Iāve been preparing, Iāve noticed some familiar habits creeping back in.
š³ Staying up late working.
š š»āāļøSigning up for things I donāt really have time for.
š°Creating extra work in the name of making everything just a little bit better.
My anxiety can look remarkably like ambition. Very productive. Lots of tabs open.
Alongside this talk, Iām making changes in my business and putting my name forward for some exciting opportunities. Thereās a lot I want to grow into this season.
And Iām realizing that one of my biggest challenges is taking really good care of myself while I do it.
I want to enjoy the life Iām creating while Iām actually creating it.
So Iām starting with something simple: giving my evenings a finish line.
Computer off at a set time. A firm bedtime. And bringing back something I havenāt done regularly in ages: reading an actual paper book before bed.
Right now, itās a book about masterpieces in Parisās museums, including the Louvre. It gives my mind somewhere lovely to wander and makes me even more excited for the trip.
Thereās something wonderful about closing the laptop and letting myself enjoy where Iām going.
As we move into a new season, perhaps your practice is filling up, youāre starting a course, or youāre finally making a change youāve wanted for years.
Before every available inch of your calendar fills, ask yourself:
What helps me feel like myselfāand where am I making room for it?
Try giving one of those things a protected place this week. A proper lunch break. An evening walk. A bedtime you actually honour, even when thereās more you could do.
Hit reply and tell me: whatās the first thing you tend to let slide when life gets busy?
For me, clearly, itās bedtime. Weāre renegotiating. š
