When your house is taking up your brain space 🧠

Hey there Healers,
Last week, I shared how I’m trying to take better care of myself while preparing for speaking at the OIA conference in Paris and also navigating some big changes in my business.
Well, another surprisingly helpful part of that process has been… rearranging my house.
You know those spaces you walk past every day and think, I really need to do something with that?
The cluttered corner. The big dark furniture that never quite worked. The collection of things that apparently live there now because nobody has challenged their residency.
I had a few of those.
Enter - my loft. We have an upstairs loft in our home that had more personalities than it could realistically live up to... A workout space, a pilates studio, a tv/rec room, meditation space, spiritual altar, an art gallery and a cat condo... apparently.
Curious what a room like that looks like🧐? See for yourself...

And every time I walked up there - I wanted to do pricesly NONE of the things that space was intended for...The energy was just STUCK. But I couldn’t quite picture what to do differently, so it stayed exactly as it's been, with a 1000 lbs TV that didn't have functional volume and a piano that is untunable and non-fixable inherited from the previous owners from over 8 years ago 😱!
🙅🏻♀️ But I was done being stuck...
So, I recruited my problem solving BFF, Chatty G (ChatGPT), and asked her to show me some possibilities for what this space COULD be. I explained how I wanted the room to feel, what I wanted to keep, and where I was stuck.
Being able to actually SEE another possibility helped me get moving.
Suddenly, I could make a decision. Move something. Let something go. Make the space feel kind of lush to be in.
Here's what it looked like when I was done (same day, no purchasing of ANYTHING - just decluttered or repurposed).

And I’ve been surprised by how much breathing room that’s given me mentally, too.
I'm now ACTUALLY using this space.
🤓 It's where I went to create my Paris slides for my talk.
🧘🏻♀️ I've been meditating again..
🤸🏻♀️ using my reformer more...
😻 even my cat likes it better - she's here almost any time I go looking for her now 💜
As practitioners, we put so much thought into the spaces where we care for others. It feels good to give that same attention to the places where we come home and recover.
So here’s a little invitation for this week: choose one small spot that’s been back-of-mind bothering you and give it 20 minutes.
Make it easier to use, nicer to look at, or more comfortable to settle into. You’re allowed to enjoy your home before the entire house is “finished.”
Not sure where to start? Just snap a picture and ask your trusty AI companion "How can I make this space feel more _____________".
This hack also works well for a junk drawer or even your clinic space if it's feeling a little off.....
Hit reply and tell me: what’s your spot? I’m willing to bet you thought of it immediately. 😉
...And if you wanna talk a little design - include your pics! I love an interior design side quest 😅
With love,
💛 Geneviève
P.S. I’m putting together a little something for October about creating breathing room financially, too. Fall is when I do some of the most useful planning for my year ahead, and I want to share that with you.
