Mid-Year Reset: Your Heart, Your Practice, Your Power

Hey fellow osteos,

July always hits different, doesn’t it?
We’re halfway through the year—and honestly, that milestone feels like both a celebration and a moment of truth.

Back in January, my husband and I made a five-year commitment to each other—not just in the ā€œstay marriedā€ sense, but a conscious, focused one:
šŸŽÆ Prioritize our health
šŸŽÆ Nurture our relationship
šŸŽÆ Build long-term financial freedom

We figured: if we go all in for five years now, the compound interest of that effort—emotionally, physically, and financially—will pay dividends for decades. (Osteos, you know we love our long games.)

So over the past 6 months, I’ve been simplifying, intentionally:

✨ Cancelling subscriptions that add clutter instead of value (bye Netflix, bye Peloton guilt - I’m outside all summer anyways!).

✨ Streamlining my systems (Instead of using 5 different banks I am down to two!)

✨ Saying no to workshops and courses (even free ones!) unless I’ve already committed to it financially (or it will exponentially accelerate my big 3 goals!)

✨ Letting go of relationships that no longer feel aligned—especially if I leave the interaction feeling depleted or not good about myself. That’s no longer welcome in my life.

And here’s the beautiful part: I don’t feel like I’m missing out.
I feel like I’m finally tuning in.

And here’s what it’s been looking like…

  • By closing the tabs, it's given me space to participate in a local, in-person herbalism course, spending time in nature, and finding so much joy in identifying and using what grows around me. Right now, I’ve got a beautiful jar of herbal vinegar steeping—infused with white pine, cleavers, spearmint, horsetail, thyme, and my own homegrown rose petals 🌹 (I didn’t know what most of those things were 2 months ago!) I’ll be using it for pre-meal aperitifs that support lymphatic drainage and hormones.
  • I’m also getting really financially literate (yes, I’m learning about stocks and bonds šŸ˜…), and shifting my entire relationship with money. Just by deciding to educate myself and get coached, I can feel my future reshaping itself.
  • This summer, I’ve swapped TV for books (even Love Island!). My husband and I are deep in a few series, and honestly—it’s been such a refreshing reset for our minds and relationship. The TV drama is gone. The house is quieter and the space is clear.

And that got me thinking…
How often do we add more in the hopes it’ll fix the chaos—when what we really need is to subtract?

So I want to ask you:

  • What’s something you can let go of this month to create space for alignment?
  • A task? A habit? A relationship? A pressure that no longer fits?

Start small. Closing one tab makes room for clarity to flow in.

You became an osteopathic practitioner to live in alignment.
Don’t forget—your practice gets better when your life does too.

We’re halfway through the year.
You still have time to make it exactly what you want it to be.

With love and clarity,
Gen

P.S. Got something you’re letting go of this month? Hit reply and tell me—I’d love to cheer you on.

Your success CAN look different šŸ…
Ā  Over the past few weeks, I’ve been sharing more about my shift into solo practice. I'm not gonna' lie.... I fought the idea of "downsizing" for a while.Ā  Probably several 10's of thousands of dollars too long.... I was straight up attached to a beautiful clinic space I had built out from the studs. I LIKED having people walk into my clinic and say "WOW!"It felt GOOD , and prestigious and suc...

Ā  One of the biggest shifts for me going from a larger clinic to solo practice? Losing my reception team. And I’ll be honest, this was not really something I was excited to "lose" For years, I had built my schedule around it: Back-to-back patients. Someone else answering calls. Someone else handling payments. Ā  Reception was essential to my practice. And I used to justify it as:ā€œIt lets me fo...
Flying Solo in practice 🪶
Ā  When I decided to shift back into solo practice, I had a whole story in my head about how it was going to feel.... šŸ’ I thought I’d miss the buzz of a bigger team.šŸ’ I thought I might feel like I was ā€œdowngrading"šŸ’ I even considered that I'd probably have to work more to make it all make sense financially. Ā  And honestly? That’s not how it played out at all. What surprised me wasn’t what I los...
